About this Event
The Native American Student Success Program is pleased to welcome Steven Paul Judd to campus as an artist-in-residence April 2-5. Judd is a Kiowa / Choctaw artist, writer, filmmaker, and cultural entrepreneur, whose various artistic endeavors question Native history and identities. Characterizing himself as “Native Andy Warrior-hol,” in 2016, Judd received a United States Artists Fellowship for media; he was also recently nominated for an Emmy Award.
While on campus, Judd will be visiting courses, conducting one-on-one critiques with studio art students, offering a public presentation, and leading a collaborative workshop for students.
Mr. Judd’s visit is coordinated by the Native American Student Success Program with support from the U.S. Dept. of Education Title III Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions Program and the University of Minnesota Institute for Advanced Study.
