Jack Powers (UMTC, Philosophy) will give an informal talk on the question: "Are Hormones Gendered?".  
Abstract: Are some hormones "male" and others "female"? Are there "gender-bending" environmental pollutants? Is nature being "feminized" by environmental endocrine disruptors? This talk will explore some of the history of gendered hormone classification and gendered language in endocrine disruption research.
