Faculty/Staff Workshop: Recognizing and Contextualizing Morris Campus History and the Ways it Connects to Our Present and Future

The workshop will provide information on:

  • the founding of the campus as an American Indian Boarding School and its connections to today and tomorrow.

  • UMM’s unique place in higher education as just one of 24 universities recognized by the US Department of Education as Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions.

  • Morris Native American student demographics.

  • some of the programs and resources available to deepen our understanding of contemporary Native issues on campus and in Minnesota.

A light lunch of soup, sandwiches, and mini apple pies will be provided.
