The highly acclaimed and Minneapolis based jazz group, The Chris Bates Trio, will be presenting a masterclass and evening performance at UMM on Wednesday, November 4th. The trio consists of Chris Bates on bass, Bryan Nichols on piano, and JT Bates on drums. Their masterclass (1pm in HFA 180) will address jazz improvisation and small jazz ensemble concepts. The trio will also perform a combination of their original music and jazz standards at the evening concert (6pm in the Recital Hall). Both events are free and open to the public.
