 t UMM on Wednesday\, November 4th. The trio consists of Chris Bates on bas
 s\, Bryan Nichols on piano\, and JT Bates on drums. Their masterclass (1pm
  in HFA 180) will address jazz improvisation and small jazz ensemble conce
 pts. The trio will also perform a combination of their original music and 
 jazz standards at the evening concert (6pm in the Recital Hall). Both even
 ts are free and open to the public.
