Take in the captivating and clever world of NÆ, a Chicago-based synth-pop and electronic artist, as we kick off this season of the Performing Arts Series on Saturday, September 23.

With sharp wit and humor, NÆ’s music satirizes American aspirational lifestyles, exploring themes of consumerism, commercialism, and influencer culture. NÆ, the persona of visual artist JaNae Contag, brings levity, imagination, and cosmic effervescence to her performances. Collaborating with producer and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Black, also known as Blizz, NÆ’s music combines sound design expertise and jazz influences. Contag is a Lecturer in Fine Arts in Photography at Loyola University Chicago, and Black teaches in the Audio Arts & Acoustics Program at Columbia College Chicago and is a sound designer with Rocket Cat Games.
