Paper Narratives: Finding The Black Hawk Paper Trail

In this talk, artist/educator Robert Possehl discusses contemporary hand papermaking practices, especially his work over the last 15 years on The Black Hawk Paper Trail Project. Using native, non-native, and invasive plants from Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, Possehl explores the relationships among landscapes, people, culture, and media and retells the story of the 1832 Black Hawk War through a series of unique, hand-harvested plant fibers
